The Blue Waterbird celebrates the ethereal swirling waters of the Stirling Falls, Milford Sound in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
These falls are sometimes known by the beautiful Māori name Waimanu - or water - wai and bird - manu, waterbird. This image was taken from a boat on Milford sound after hiking the Milford Track. Here Waterbird was in deep blue shadow on a bright sunny summer morning, it was lively but not pounding as there had been two rainless days in a row (a rare event in the damp rainforests of Fiordland World Heritage Park).
The Blue Waterbird is quintessential New Zealand wilderness accessible to anyone that manages to visit Milford Sound by boat. Waterbird offers an elegant momento of travels to one of the most spectacular places in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Place a large A1 of The Blue Waterbird as a centerpiece in your large lounge or dining area. She will sit especially well when you pick out her deep blue tones with blue accents throughout your soft furnishings. Waterbird really pops with a black frame, or for a more subtle feel, choosing a white frame or raw wood frame is the go.
