Why doesn't Blankwallnz sell unframed prints?

Selling rolled unframed prints leads to price shock and to unloved art sitting in the corner ... gathering dust and spider webs.

I sell Blankwallnz wall art, framed and ready to hang, so you can simply enjoy the wilderness that you love everyday.

What does that te reo Māori word mean?

What is 'Aotearoa'? Aotearoa is the name of New Zealand in our indigenous Māori language. It refers to 'the land of the long white cloud' Ao (means cloud or world), tea (white or bright), and roa (meaning long). Our land was populated from adventurous travellers using large canoes/waka on long sea voyages from Polynesia. As the voyage neared its end the first signs of land were the low clouds sitting over the land of Aotearoa. 'Aotearoa New Zealand' is being increasingly used to refer to this place, this country.

What does 'Te atakura' mean? Te atakura is a beautiful word for the red tipped dawn.
One of my wall art pieces is of the world renowned Mitre Peak, that sits above Milford Sound in the Fiordland World Heritage Park of Aotearoa New Zealand. This ethereal piece speaks of calm and getting ready for the day ahead. The name of 'Mitre te atakura', references a well known Māori karakia or blessing used in Aotearoa New Zealand to open meetings and other important events. This non religious blessing talks of the start of the day using the beautiful Māori language phrase ‘te ata kura’ meaning 'the red tipped dawn'. Mitre te atakura can be found in our 'Quintessential Wild' Aotearoa Wilderness collection and our Milford Track Wilderness collection.
